Useful, especially for the UNS UNS UNS. V4 fixed a lot of the small errors, but added a subtle nagware thing about that Platinum Notes software they have too.

solid tool be careful though it can clear tags in serato.

I wouldnt scan all your tracks but it is useful when making mixes.

I've got it but I only use it for averaging levels for ipods. Didn't really trust it for treating files for spinning. But I am not basing this on any thing like an experience.

Mixed in key is the new serato what are you talking about it merely tags ur tracks with the key and bpm. Once again be careful with it as I said before it can jack ur library up.

I was wondering about this program. How drastic are the results? Is it worth the $99?

I use MIK both on my PC and Mac. Definitely good for House and Dance music, not needed as much for Hip Hop. However, key mixing with hip hop sounds great too. And you can set up MIK to not write over your tags. I have it inserting the key in my comments field.

<-- Cosigns MIK

Yea I have it write the Key in the comments section, then just add that column into Serato. You can then sort by key if you want, I don't do that because it kind of limits you if you strictly use that, but it is nice to have the info there.

Serato 1.9 is supposed to show the key but I'm not sure where it gets the info from since Key isn't an ID3 tag...or so I am to assume.

Yeah, I think we're just going to have to manually enter them.

I don't know, I don't exactly trust it. That does not mean it does not work, I just don't know that it works. I use it when I load Ipods to help average out the sound level between the files. So there are not volume spikes in a hotel lobbies muzack, for example. But I have not treated anything I play in a set.

I bought MIK for Mac. it works pretty well as far as IDing the key and tagging. Just make sure you understand where and how it's tagging and you adjust the settings according to your preference. also the BPM counting is usually pretty off. When I first used it I ran it against ~300 tracks and it stalled at like 1XX, wasn't sure which ones it had finished so I had to re-run it against all the tracks a few times to get it to finish.

I've always assumed the color of the waveform in Serato relates to what key that sound is in.

am i way off here?

The color references the frequency but not the key. The reds representing are lows, greens are mids, and blues are highs. That's how you can tell a kick from a snare just by looking at the waveform.

By the way, Mixed In Key is only like $60. I've never used it but I've heard they require you to be online in order for it to work, which probably makes it hard as shit to crack.

Yes it needs to be registered and you need to be online and it has to be linked to the email you registered it too. but I split it with a few people and we all just use the same stuff.

I know i didnt have to register it supply email or anything but this is also an old version..i think the new one is 5.0 so they've prolly made it harder to crack and whatnot
