Saw this trailer and regardless if it will be a good or lame docu, it did remind me of how much I used to like these guys. Such a good live show.

Might give em a go, would like to see the docu as they seem like an interesting band anyways.

Can't see the vid but I will cosign Fishbone.

Got this shirt from a friend of mine in 6th grade and passed it on to another friend in 7th grade. By the time we were in High School it had been passed around to about 10 different people and was torn and tattered. Wish I still had it.

i have this awesome Fishbone shirt (that i don't have a picture of) that i got the week i moved to Toronto in that sketchy basement store at Yonge & Gould. ROCK ZONE! it's white with the big logo but also all-over print of bone patterns and bubbles and stuff, and the back is mirror image so it says Fishbone backwards.

My favorite band when I was a kid. First show I ever went to. 1991 summer after 7th or 8th grade I had tickets to see these dudes (with a horrible female rap-group called Bitches With Problems! ) but I got grounded for sneaking out of the house and stealing my dad's bike. So I snuck out again and went to the show, slam-danced like the skinny little idiot I was, and stage-dived about 100 times. Security was letting people stage dive, but was kicking anybody out if they fucked with the band or anything on stage, and tons of people were getting kicked out. Security would just pick them up and toss them out into the alley from this door beside the stage. By the end of the show every time they opened the door to throw somebody out four or five people would run back in. I also got slapped by a hot teenage girl for rubbing my little 12 year old boner on her ass!

Also, at risk of treading into some murky, slippery ground... my best friend growing up was a black kid who lived two doors down. After elementary school we sort of drifted apart, went to different schools, made new racially homogenous friends. I was a little punk rock brat and he was rocking Africa medallions and a dumbass gumby hair-cut. Our independent but mutual love of Fishbone actually brought us back together as friends. We went to that show together. I let him borrow a Fugazi tape, he let me borrow a Tribe Called Quest tape. We're still boys. So, as simplistic and myopic as all that "they bridged the gap between white music and black music" stuff is, it's kind of true.
