Was anyone on this board at apt tonight? Holy shit RIZ tore the fucking roof down. I'm in awe of this fucking dude NO ONE can see him. If you live in New York and weren't there you should feel really bad about yourself. Primo had the crowd chanting "Fuck You Riz" cause he made everyone else look so bad. It was classic. I'm gonna try and get the recording and post it. |

i wish i could remember what he played... it's all a blur right now. a peter piper acapella was definitely thrown in. there were some heavyweight fucking dj's there all taking turns bowing down to him when he got out the booth and it was so classic he goes to me "and now i get to go play pitbull records this weekend" and rolls his eyes. |

He played everything from an ill NWA medley to Rock Creek Park and ended up on Jadeee - Plastic dreams. Everytime he dropped a song (which was every 10 secs tops) it was a banger. He looped shit you'd never think of looping. It was a preview of the Matrix 12 and I'm still charged from that set. MAD inspiring. I knew the tone for the night was set when I walk in to see Eclipse on records (remember those?) rocking doubles hampster style and he drops "Take It Easy" and the room erupted (ayo) Classic night, classic DJs, Classic city... and I was there

I played with Riz in Tokyo and it was definitely... eye opening. He is on a different level, creatively, then most DJs I have heard/seen. Not surprised to hear that it went down like that. His live from bk mixes are bonafied classics... and well, he is half of Crooklyn Clan. And to hear that AM and Eli (2 guys I obviously have tremendous respect for) were so wowed, well, makes me very jealous that I missed this one. Hopefully I will make it out to Bang tomorrow night and you guys can do the same. Nice to hear some compliments thrown around for once. |
