Must fall into category of bands he's into that no one over 30 has heard of about which he says stuff like "I think they're just the tip of the Scottish postnurave iceberg."

Zounds!
Go Arf Arf Arf
Young Terpsichordeans
Anime'e
Computer '84

Out of fairness, I include below some Bands that Ricky D Would Like if they Existed:

Crystal Sandwich
Shit Bicycle
Reagan's Cock
Butt Rag
Mallet

ricky d, this is really disappointing, you missed what would have been the most spot-on band name stereotype (the emo inclination for using months and/or geography and/or historical references) to make fun of me for.

bands with names like your referring to aren't ones i've generally liked or repped on this board :(. (i admit my post-new-raves drop was silly, but magistrates/friendlyfires/passionpit can all clearly be seen as influenced or atleast within the same lineage as klaxons and such)

(king beard... ??? :( )

also... my "if i ever have a band"-name has been Tigris/Euphrates for years now... check out some of my completely shitty musings here ! :P

Considering that I listen to bands called things like the Homosexuals and Butthole Surfers, I think this one is more up my alley, if you know what I mean.

how is this not audibly self explanatory? (i know you've heard all 4 bands in question)

at base level they're all poppydistortedy fairly fast tempo'd keyboard-heavy bands that use fairly highpitched nanana-y vocals , i think 3 of which are on XL recordings(?), that have all been hyped within the same circles, and if i had a better grasp of english geography/the london music scene, I could probably connect magistrates/friendlyfires rise to the klaxons even more so...?

and again.... Ricky D the things you pretended to quote me on are all like.. 4th way Ska names... and I'm definitely not into that crap. (Halogen Hearts does sound like a The Anniversary track though)

darkside is killing it... when I was in houston a couple weeks ago my friend was bartending and we put on False Cathedrals and got hammered, something I think you'd appreciate (?)

sounds like an ATDi cover band circa 2010, like when the Brokencyde 14yo fans "discover" "real" "screamo" when they're 16 and start a band
